£14,880 per annum (£24,800 FTE) | Part Time, On-site | Newton Abbot area
Cathedral Appointments is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, customer-focused business for a Part-Time Warehouse Assistant to join its small warehouse team in the Newton Abbot area. The team looks after the processing, picking and dispatch of customer orders, along with the handling of returned products, and this appointment adds valuable weekend and weekday cover to a busy operation.
The Role
This is a 21-hour role worked across Friday, Saturday and Monday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, so it would suit someone looking for a regular part-time pattern that includes weekend work. The work combines hands-on warehouse tasks with plenty of time on the system, processing orders and keeping stock records accurate. Some tasks are repetitive, so it will suit someone methodical and reliable who takes pride in getting the detail right and enjoys being part of a supportive team.
Responsibilities for the Warehouse Assistant:
- Process customer sales orders on the system, from receipt through to dispatch.
- Pick, pack and dispatch products, accessories and supporting materials accurately and on time.
- Prepare shipments for Royal Mail and courier collection, keeping packing and postage costs efficient.
- Maintain accurate stock records, support regular stock takes and report any discrepancies.
- Book in returned products and help prepare them for reuse, following established refurbishment and cleaning processes.
- Follow warehouse procedures and quality standards, supporting colleagues across the operation where needed.
Requirements for the Warehouse Assistant include:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or stock control role.
- Strong IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). This is essential.
- Experience of Sage or Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is preferred, as is pick and pack experience.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable with some manual handling, including lifting boxes of up to 20kg. The role does not involve extensive heavy lifting.
- Familiarity with Royal Mail or courier dispatch systems, or experience in an ISO 9001 environment, would be an advantage.
Benefits:
- £14,880 per annum (£24,800 FTE), a permanent part-time position.
- 21 hours per week across Friday, Saturday and Monday, 8:30am to 4:30pm with a one-hour lunch break.
- Daytime hours with no evening work.
- Clear, established processes and the chance to learn the business’s internal systems.
- A supportive, collaborative team where your work makes a real difference to customers.
- Ideal start date in November 2026.
If you are organised, dependable and looking for a regular part-time role that includes weekends, we would love to hear from you.
Note on Sponsorship: We regret to inform you that at this time, we are unable to offer sponsorship for work authorisation for this role. Therefore, candidates must possess valid authorisation to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.
