Tax Director required to join a leading, Exeter-based accountancy firm on a full-time, permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to oversee the effective operation and development of the firm’s corporate tax function. Our client is looking for someone who is CTA qualified, currently working at senior manager or director level in a similar role, and can effectively lead and motivate a team.
The role is based in the Exeter office, however, flexible / home working is also considered.
Responsibilities include: -
- Provide high-level technical support to Partners and their teams
- Ensure that all work passing through the tax team is appropriately delegated and completed
- Ensure all tax-related work adheres to the firm’s tax policy and minimises the firm’s exposure to any associated risk
- Oversee the implementation of any new tax services introduced by the firm
- Act as the senior lead on all corporate tax consultancy assignments and ensure tax planning opportunities are maximised
- Support teams in tender applications and generating new work from existing clients
Requirements: -
- CTA qualified
- Currently working at Senior Manager or Director level, in a similar role, with a high level of corporate tax knowledge, which provides the firm with technical backup on related tax matters
- A skilled networker, adept at identifying opportunities for cross-selling and applying business and commercial skills to understand and meet the client’s needs
- Team player, with excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport quickly with colleagues and clients
- Be able to demonstrate both the technical expertise along with the additional competencies in client-facing, business development ability, and aptitude to progress in the firm
- Act as a lead for colleagues as the corporation tax expert
