An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technical Manager to join an innovative company based in Exeter on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves coordinating and resolving operational engineering issues, developing/improving quality and speed of manufactured products, and ensuring production operations are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar field, a strong background in electronics as well as broad knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Coordinate and resolve operational engineering issues internally and where needed globally
  • Work with Engineering and Product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new and existing products, machine specifications, plant capital requirement, project timelines
  • Continually develop, improve quality and speed of manufactured products
  • Actively promote a safe work environment
  • Management of all technical aspects of Manufacturing Production and Production Engineering to ensure all production operations are achieved in a timely and cost-effective basis and in line with company quality standards
  • Develop people and teams to identify and implement innovative process improvement solutions
  • Able to drive engagement across a global business
  • Continually review and evaluate existing operating policies, procedures, systems, schedules to implement modifications and improvements
  • Ensure customer requirements are met at all times

Requirements: -

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar field
  • Minimum of HNC or HND in Electronics
  • Vast experience in an Electronic Manufacturing environment
  • Strong general knowledge of IT Networks and Systems
  • Good knowledge of Compliance, Directives & standards i.e. EMC, UL, ETL, ISO
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematic designs
  • Ability to identify and source alternative electronic components from datasheets
  • Flexible, open to new ideas, and able to manage challenging situations with a ‘can do attitude’
  • Ability to work within deadlines and on multiple projects
  • Demonstrate ability/desire to learn new technologies
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Fast learner and eager to participate/lead in a team environment
