Role Overview:
As a Senior Software Engineer specialising in .NET, you will play a pivotal role in shaping backend architecture and driving engineering standards across the business. You will design, build and optimise robust APIs and backend services that power a modern SaaS platform, while mentoring others and contributing to the ongoing development of engineering best practice. This is a hands-on role with real influence, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical leadership with delivery.
Highly flexible hybrid working model, with a minimum of one day per week in the office. For candidates travelling from further afield, accommodation costs can be discussed as required, for the right candidate.
Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer:
- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using C# and .NET Core
- Take ownership of backend architecture, coding standards and technical documentation
- Develop and optimise SQL Server queries and stored procedures to ensure performance and reliability
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, contributing to code reviews and continuous improvement
Requirements of the Senior Software Engineer:
- Strong commercial experience in C# and .NET Core API development within a SaaS or API-driven environment
- Solid SQL Server expertise including stored procedures, indexing and query optimisation
- Experience with ORM technologies such as Entity Framework Core and or Dapper
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence architectural decisions and collaborate across teams
