The firm’s successful Planning team is going from strength to strength and this role offers the best of both worlds - working with a small group of Bristol based planning and infrastructure experts yet being part of a larger national real estate practice.

Ideally you will work from the Bristol office at least for the part of the week however the firms recognise the expertise is niche and will consider candidates who could work from one of their other offices as well as candidates looking for a mostly remote role that can work from the office a couple of times a month.

About the role

As an experienced Planning Lawyer, you'll play a pivotal role within the team and wider department. You will provide planning advice to clients from the education, charity and public sectors as well as helping landowners and developers across the UK. The firm's planning work may be stand-alone or working closely with the construction, commercial property and property litigation teams. You'll relish this interaction with colleagues across the offices, helping to provide the clients with the seamless service.

In addition, you will be advising on a range of planning topics including enforcement, listed buildings, CIL, EIAs, lawful use, permitted development rights, change of use, the Planning Act 2008 and protective provisions

About You

As a positive and passionate planning lawyer, you will be looking for a varied diet of high-quality work without any compromise on quality. You are confident in the technical advice you provide to colleagues and directly to clients, being able to consider and provide insightful and appropriate advice across a range of sectors.

Being resilience to work under pressure by organising yourself effectively, you will be able to meet deadlines as needed. You will possess strong communication and rapport building skills and you are tenacious, thorough, and attentive to detail whilst appreciating the 'bigger picture' for your clients, taking pride in the high standards of your work.

Having a natural ability and experience in business development activities, you will help to extend the firms, and your own personal profile with a team of experts supporting you.
