Led by a highly experienced Partner, the team works across three offices and has the opportunity to get together every two months in person to share learning and celebrate success. About the role

This is a new role, reflecting the plans for growth of the team and increased client demand. The team is extremely supportive of one another, with the Partner having focussed on nurturing an environment where everyone can ask questions and help each other when needed. Fee earners benefit from excellent administrative support, enabling them to focus on where their clients need their expertise most. Once a successful probationary period is completed, team members can work from home for up to two days per week (if full time) and part-time hours may be available.

You will be running your own varied caseload of good quality Residential Property matters including:

  • Handling a variety of high value freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity and remortgages.
  • Working with minimal supervision whilst supporting the development of less experienced members of the team as needed.
  • Receiving instructions and dealing with client queries over the phone and in person.
  • Providing expert legal advice to clients through the drafting and reviewing of legal documents, contracts, and agreements relating to residential property transactions.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Handling negotiations and resolving any legal issues that may arise during the conveyancing process.
  • Working proactively with other fee earner and assistants across different practice areas to maximise on opportunities for cross-referrals and collaboration.
  • Engaging with regional business development and networking opportunities, actively marketing yourself, your team and the firm to with key local introducers such as agents and wealth managers.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Maintaining excellent file administration standards with a strong understanding of the relevant compliance required in this highly regulated area of law.
  • Maintaining your continuing professional development requirements, taking an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law.
  • Conducting legal research, seeking to stay updated on changes in property law and regulations.

About you

As an experienced and qualified Residential Property Solicitor (CILEX, SRA, CLC or SQE routes welcomed), you will ideally have at least 2-3 years' experience of fee earning and feel comfortable progressing your own caseload with relative (or complete) independence within a residential property team. With your experience, you will possess a good working knowledge of conveyancing processes, property law, and relevant legislation.

With good quality prior experience within private practice, you are comfortable working collaboratively within a busy team environment, liaising directly with clients and third parties in the interests of progressing each matter. You are confident speaking with clients about the more complex elements of their case, taking pride in your work and being self-motivated to deliver great results to each client you work with. You will appreciate the importance of teamwork and a culture where everyone can feel valued for the work they do.

You possess excellent communication and client care skills, being professional, perceptive and calm under pressure when working to deadlines and prioritising your time. Prior experience in using a case management system would be advantageous, and you’ll be keen to bring your insights and ideas to the firm, positively contributing towards the collegiate and collaborative environment this firm offers.
