Private Client Solicitor/ Associate (2506)

Ref: 2506

Ref: 10338

Exeter

About the firm

Cathedral Appointments is pleased to support the continued success of a progressive regional law firm that is known for its active commitment to its people, clients, and communities. The firm’s ongoing success in winning new instructions finds them looking to expand their thriving team with a motivated Private Client lawyer.

About the role

Based from the Exeter office, you will undertake a varied and interesting client caseload which will include lifetime planning for higher net worth and business clients (including will, LPA, and trust drafting), succession planning for business owners, farmers/landowners, and professionals, and larger estate administrations. In addition, you will seek to proactively develop the existing relationships with other teams (Family, Real Estate, Corporate, and Contentious Probate/Trusts) to provide assistance with their work and to promote the cross-referral of work into the Private Client team.

With your experience, you enjoy complex work and the opportunity to supervise and support the development of less experienced members of the team. Equally, your positive approach to networking with active and potential referrers in order to continually open up new business development opportunities will be important over time.

About you

As a motivated and ambitious Private Client Solicitor or Associate, you take pride in delivering exceptional client service and encourage your colleagues to do the same. You are confident in the technical advice you provide to colleagues and directly to clients, being able to consider and provide insightful and appropriate advice in each situation. You are likely to be STEP qualified or in the process of gaining this and have good expertise in trusts, estate planning, and administration.

You are readily able to demonstrate your strong analytical and communication skills and you can work strategically with clients and as part of a team. Being resilient to work under pressure by organising yourself effectively, you will be able to meet deadlines as needed. You will possess proven rapport-building skills and you are tenacious, thorough, and attentive to detail whilst appreciating the 'bigger picture' for your clients, taking pride in the high standards of your work.

You will be looking to make your mark and build a successful career as well as supporting the development of others in the team. Having a natural ability and experience in business development activities, you will help to extend the firms, and your own personal profile with a team of experts supporting you.
