We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team based in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design, development and optimisation of innovative products, taking concepts through to production-ready solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and delivered to the highest quality standards while supporting new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Design and develop new products from concept through to detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.

• Optimise existing products to improve manufacturability, efficiency and cost while maintaining quality.

• Produce production-ready CAD models and technical drawings, carrying out tolerance analysis and DFMEA throughout the design process.

• Collaborate with Production Engineering, Purchasing and Development teams to ensure successful delivery of new product projects.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience within a mechanical design environment.

• Proven experience of product development from prototype through to volume manufacture.

• Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, including folding and welding, with Design for Manufacture expertise.

• Experience using Solid Edge or a comparable 3D CAD package, together with GD&T, DFMEA and tolerance stack-up analysis.
