A great opportunity to join a growing and thriving business in Exeter. This is a key role working in the heart of the Finance team reporting to the Financial Controller. You will be responsible for all aspects of the preparation of the management accounts. Be part of the team working with the Financial Controller and expanding your knowledge as you grow with the business.

The outline of the role will include:

  • Assistance with the completion of the month end close-down.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset registers.
  • Preparation of monthly stock reconciliations.
  • Assistance with the completion of the year-end audit file including first draft statutory accounts.
  • Control of key accruals arising from individual departments around the business.
  • Provide assistance to Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable regarding nominal queries and technical questions.
  • Daily treasury review and setting up payments and inter-company transfers.

Responsibilities:

  • Control of key accruals arising from individual departments around the business.
  • Preparation of annual budget and provision of budget monitoring information to managers.
  • Assistance with monthly finance reviews & preparing the quarterly forecasts.
  • Control & maintenance of the nominal ledger, cash book and fixed asset registers.
  • Control & maintenance of the purchase order processing / service codes
  • Upkeep of landed costs suppliers and rates
  • Running month end reports prior to period ends on sales ledger, purchase ledger, inventory control, Sales Order Processing and Purchase Order Processing.
  • Archiving of cashbook, nominal ledger and fixed asset reports.
  • Monthly preparation and submission of intrastate arrivals returns.
  • Provide assistance to Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable regarding nominal queries and technical questions.

Requirements:

  • Excellent practical and theoretical accounting knowledge, whether through formal or part qualification AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA .
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, in particular intermediate to advanced use of Excel.
  • Possess good communication skills, as this role involves liaising with all other department throughout the company, and at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as a larger team.
  • Be motivated and well organized.
  • Have good attention to detail, whilst maintaining a flexible approach.
