A well-established manufacturing business with a strong commitment to quality, safety and operational excellence is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its busy engineering team. The Role:

The Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production operations. Working within a dedicated engineering team, the successful candidate will take a hands-on approach to maintaining, repairing and improving a range of machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and support production targets.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer include: 

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on machinery and equipment, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Respond promptly to repair requests, prioritising critical equipment to maintain production performance.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with production and other departments, ensuring safety standards and operational targets are consistently met.

Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer include: 

  • Previous experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and lean manufacturing principles (e.g. 5S, continuous improvement).
  • Confident in using maintenance systems and tools, with solid fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. GCSEs, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent), with 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations advantageous.
