Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to take on a vital role in a thriving finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules. This is a hands-on position suited to someone proactive and detail-oriented, with previous experience in legal finance.
Responsibilities of the Legal Cashier include:
- Handle daily client and office account transactions, including reconciliations and payment processing
- Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and manage accurate financial records
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including VAT returns
- Liaise confidently with fee earners, auditors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
Requirements of the Legal Cashier include:
- Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a legal practice is essential
- Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting software
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data management
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with a professional approach to confidentiality
