About the role 

Our client is a highly regarded national law firm who are seeking an experienced Investigations and Employee Relations Consultant to join their expanding workplace investigations team. This is a rare opportunity to become part of a dynamic, forward-thinking employment department that advises leading clients across a broad range of sectors. 

The role is well-suited to a qualified employment lawyer or an experienced HR professional with a strong background in high-level internal investigations, particularly those involving senior stakeholders and complex, sensitive issues. 

In this role, you can expect to: 

  • Lead or advise on complex investigations 
  • Analyse evidence and conduct interviews 
  • Produce high-quality investigation reports 
  • Work collaboratively with clients and legal teams 
  • Navigate issues such as discrimination, whistleblowing, and misconduct with discretion and clarity 

 

About You 

Our client is seeking someone with demonstrable expertise in conducting and reporting on complex internal investigations. 

You are likely to: 

  • Be a qualified solicitor with at least 6 years’ post-qualification UK-based experience in employment law within a law firm environment, or a senior HR professional with a strong understanding of UK employment law and its application 
  • Possess strong emotional intelligence and communication skills 
  • Be experienced in drafting clear, concise, and accurate reports 
  • Be highly experienced in building trust with stakeholders at all levels 

This role sits within the Employment Team, which is comprised of over 30 specialist employment lawyers, including six partners. The team handles a wide array of contentious and non-contentious matters for both public and private sector clients.  

Areas of expertise include: 

  • Workplace investigations and grievance resolution 
  • Disciplinary and whistleblowing procedures 
  • Complex discrimination and equal pay matters 
  • Employment litigation (Tribunal and High Court) 
  • TUPE, redundancy and restructuring 
  • Restrictive covenants and severance negotiations 
  • Drafting contracts, policies and staff handbooks 
  • The team advises clients in sectors including education, healthcare, energy, construction, transport and agriculture.
