£14-£18 per hour DOE | Temporary, Full Time with travel between Exeter & Barnstaple
Cathedral Appointments is recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation for an experienced HR Advisor to join on a temporary basis. The business is running a concentrated recruitment campaign and needs an extra pair of experienced hands to support the hiring manager through four weeks of interviews, starting on Monday 16 November.
The Role
This is a short-term, part-time assignment of three days per week, based in either Exeter or Barnstaple. Your main focus will be sitting alongside the hiring manager on interview panels, helping to assess candidates fairly and consistently. Between interviews, you will pick up general HR tasks to support the wider team. It would suit an HR Advisor who is confident in a structured interview setting and comfortable stepping into a new environment quickly.
Responsibilities for the HR Advisor:
- Co-interview candidates alongside the hiring manager, contributing to structured, fair and consistent assessment
- Prepare interview materials, scoring sheets and candidate packs ahead of each session
- Record interview notes and scoring accurately, and support shortlisting and selection decisions
- Coordinate interview schedules and candidate communications where needed
- Provide general HR support outside of interview days, such as administration, onboarding and advice to managers
Requirements for the HR Advisor include:
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor role or similar generalist HR position
- Confident, practical experience of competency-based or structured interviewing
- Sound knowledge of fair, inclusive and legally compliant recruitment practice
- Strong organisational and note-taking skills, with excellent attention to detail
- A current (live) DBS check is essential
- Availability for three days per week for four weeks from 16 November
