We’re seeking an experienced and qualified Residential Conveyancer to take on the role of Head of Residential Conveyancing at their Exeter office.

About the role

The Head of Residential Conveyancing will manage a busy and expanding team of conveyancing fee earners, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the team. You will be acting as the key escalation point for less experienced members of the team, whilst showcasing your knowledge by undertaking the more complex conveyancing work from inception to post completion. In this lead role, you will also take responsibility for developing and extending relationships with referrer clients including lenders and estate agencies.

This is a key role for the firm, and your experience and confidence as a technical specialist and people leader will ensure you are warmly welcomed and appreciated by colleagues and clients alike.

You will be joining a team which enjoys being actively engaged in business development and networking opportunities to raise the profile of the firm and the team, and you’ll be supported and encouraged to forge new relationships with referrers to underpin the continued success of the team.

About you

A fully qualified Residential Property Lawyer or Conveyancer, you will have gained at least 5 years’ PQE within a reputable and varied Residential Property team and be accustomed to working directly with clients at all levels on a range of value transactions. With your experience, you will be used to responding at pace to the changing demands of the team, actively managing conflicting deadlines, prioritising tasks, and working to tight timescales. You’re positive about delegating or sharing work with team members and colleagues where appropriate to ensure that work is done at the right level, with every client receiving a first-class service, every time.

You are a capable communicator across all media and take pride in building rapport and establishing trusted relationships with your clients, referrers and colleagues alike. You enjoy delivering a great service whilst remaining commercial with your advice and are keen to develop your skills and knowledge over time. You recognise the importance of business development activities and are keen to support your team and play your part as you expand your networks and professional profile in the region.
