The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Family Lawyer to join a dynamic and supportive firm, either in Taunton or Yeovil, depending on your location and preference. The role can be tailored to your expertise, whether that lies in private family work or Legal Aid children’s matters. You’ll work as part of a highly regarded team that values collaboration, continuous development, and achieving meaningful outcomes for clients through calm and constructive legal practice.

Key Responsibilities of the Family Lawyer:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of Family Law matters, specialising in Divorce, Financial Remedy, or Children’s Law, depending on your background.
  • Provide clear, empathetic, and Resolution-based advice to clients on sensitive and complex issues.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced colleagues, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Engage in business development and networking to build and maintain strong client and referrer relationships.

Requirements of the Family Lawyer:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with several years’ PQE in Family Law within a reputable firm.
  • Strong technical expertise in either Divorce & Financial Remedy or Children’s Law (Children’s Panel accreditation desirable).
  • A commitment to non-confrontational practice, ideally as a member of or aligned with Resolution principles.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and client relationship skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
