The Role: 

This Deputy IT Programme Manager role supports the delivery of a varied portfolio of IT and systems initiatives. Working closely with the IT Programme Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating projects, monitoring progress, and acting as a central link between technical teams and business stakeholders. The position offers a blend of hands-on programme support and strategic input, making it ideal for someone looking to step into a broader programme management remit.

Responsibilities of the Deputy IT Programme Manager:  

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of IT programmes and projects across multiple workstreams
  • Track progress against scope, timelines, and budgets, producing clear and accurate reporting
  • Act as a liaison between development teams, business areas, and senior stakeholders
  • Maintain project documentation and promote best practice delivery standards

Requirements of the Deputy IT Programme Manager:  

  • Experience supporting IT or technology programmes or complex projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and proactive way
  • Solid understanding of IT systems, development lifecycles, or technical environments
