About the firm
Cathedral Appointments is pleased to support the continued success of a progressive regional law firm who is known for its active commitment to its people, clients and communities. As part of the firm’s ongoing success, their Contentious Wills & Probate team are seeking to recruit an experienced fee earner (either a qualified Solicitor or CILEX).
About the role
Based from the Exeter office, you will undertake a varied and interesting client caseload of inheritance and trusts dispute work. In this sensitive area of work, you will be working directly with a range of private clients on contentious matters, providing carefully considered, appropriate and timely advice which addresses their priorities.
Joining a collaborative team, you enjoy complex work and the opportunity to supervise and support the development of less experienced members of the team. Helping one another and sharing knowledge is a key part of this firm’s culture and success, and you will be enthusiastic about working with colleagues at all levels.
Working as part of the wider Dispute Resolution Team, you will be keen to contribute to their business development activities and actively build your profile and networks over time. In addition, the firm is keen to encourage you to actively engage with the firm’s specialist sectors and work collaboratively with other teams when the opportunity arises.
About you
As an experienced Contentious Wills & Probate fee earner (likely to be at Solicitor or Associate level, or CILEX), you take pride in delivering exceptional client service and encourage your colleagues to do the same. You are confident in the technical advice you provide to colleagues and directly to clients, being able to consider and provide insightful and appropriate advice in each situation. You will be committed to progressing your career in the area of contentious inheritance and trusts and are keen to develop your expertise over time.
Accustomed to working in a busy and highly professional driven environment, you are readily able to demonstrate your strong analytical and communication skills and that you can work strategically with clients and as part of a team. Being resilient to work under pressure by organising yourself effectively and flexibly, you will be able to meet deadlines as needed. You possess proven rapport-building skills and you are tenacious, thorough, and attentive to detail whilst appreciating the 'bigger picture' for your clients and taking pride in the high standards of your work.
You will be looking to make your mark and build a successful career as well as supporting the development of others in the team. Having a natural ability and experience in business development activities, you will help to extend the firms, and your own personal profile with a team of experts supporting you.
Equally, your positive approach to networking with active and potential referrers in order to continually open up new business development opportunities will be important over time.
