- Load, edit and optimise machine programs where required.
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections, maintaining accurate inspection records and production paperwork.
- Identify and resolve machining issues, contributing to process improvements.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance, keep the work area organised to 5S standards and work safely at all times.
Requirements for the CNC Machinist include:
- Proven experience as a Machinist in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience setting and operating CNC and/or conventional milling and turning machines, with a working knowledge of control systems.
- Strong ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Confidence using precision measuring equipment, with good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in Machining or equivalent experience.
Benefits:
- Up to £20 per hour, depending on experience.
- Temporary and contract assignments, working on-site.
- Opportunities across Devon and Somerset.
- Varied precision machining work that puts your setting and programming skills to good use.
If you are an experienced machinist looking for your next assignment, we would love to hear from you.
