£30k–£35k Basic + Uncapped Commission | £70k+ OTE | Mid-Devon | Hybrid & Flexible Working 

A well-established logistics provider who is expanding its commercial team in the South West is looking for a Business Development Executive with at least 5 years of sales experience, including a minimum of 2 years specifically in the freight and logistics sector and a proven track record of selling into SME clients to drive new business and build strong client relationships. 

The Role 

This is a high-impact, consultative sales role offering genuine autonomy, long-term progression, and a highly rewarding commission structure. After 12 months, there will be room to build and lead your own sales team. 

Responsibilities of the Business Development Executive: 

  • Drive new business by promoting logistics and shipping services through calls, networking, referrals, and events. 
  • Deliver tailored solutions, including software demos, and negotiate contracts to secure new clients. 
  • Support client onboarding and ensure smooth service delivery during the first 12 weeks. 
  • Analyse sales data and market trends while attending client meetings, site visits, and networking events. 

Requirements of the Business Development Executive: 

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience, with at least 2 years in freight, logistics, shipping, or courier sectors. 
  • Proven track record of selling into SME businesses with strong negotiation and communication skills. 
  • Self-motivated, target-driven professional with CRM and digital tool proficiency. 
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel for meetings and events
