We’re working with a well-established logistics provider who is expanding their commercial team in the South West. They’re looking for a Business Development Executive with recent direct sales experience in the freight and logistics sector and a proven track record of selling into SME clients to drive new business and build strong client relationships.

This is a high-impact, consultative sales role offering genuine autonomy, long-term progression, and a highly rewarding commission structure.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Business Development Executive:

  • Driving new business by promoting logistics and shipping services to SME clients
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities via cold calling, networking, referrals, and events
  • Delivering software demos and creating tailored solutions for prospects
  • Negotiating contracts and onboarding new clients
  • Supporting clients through the first 12 weeks of service to ensure a smooth start
  • Analysing sales data and customer trends to inform strategy
  • Attending client meetings, site visits, and regional networking events

Requirements of the Business Development Executive:

  • Recent direct B2B sales experience in freight, logistics, shipping, or courier sectors (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience of selling into SME businesses (essential)
  • Full UK driver’s license (essential)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter mentality with a track record of hitting targets
  • CRM proficiency and confidence using digital tools
