Up to £25,500 | Permanent, On-site | Yeovil
Cathedral Appointments is recruiting on behalf of a large, well-established business for an Artworker to join its busy in-house marketing team in South Somerset. The team produces a steady programme of promotional campaigns every month, and this role will help keep that artwork accurate, on brand and ready for print.
The Role
Working alongside the marketing and creative teams, you will adapt and amend existing artwork, prepare files for print and check every detail before it goes to press. This is a hands-on production role rather than a conceptual design position, so it will suit someone who enjoys precise, technical work, takes pride in accuracy and is comfortable with shifting priorities and tight turnarounds. It is a good next step for a Junior Artworker, Artwork Operator or someone from a print production background who wants to develop within a larger in-house team.
Responsibilities for the Artworker:
- Adapt and amend artwork for print in line with established brand guidelines.
- Use Adobe InDesign to place, format and prepare assets, making technical adjustments to imagery, colour and layout.
- Prepare files for CMYK print output to the required production specifications.
- Update prices, offers and promotional copy accurately, checking every change before sign-off.
- Manage a high volume of artwork across monthly campaigns, prioritising against deadlines and responding calmly to late changes.
- Work closely with marketing, creative and production colleagues to deliver assets on time.
Requirements for the Artworker include:
- Good working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, with the confidence to talk through how you have used it.
- Experience preparing or adapting artwork for print, ideally in a print production, artwork studio or reprographics setting.
- A sound understanding of print production, including press-ready files and CMYK colour.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly with prices, promotional information and print specifications.
- The ability to work quickly and accurately on repetitive tasks to tight deadlines.
- Photoshop and Illustrator would be useful, although strong InDesign skills are the priority.
Benefits:
- Permanent, on-site role.
- 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
- 7.5% bonus scheme following successful completion of a three-month probationary period.
- Pension scheme and healthcare benefits.
- The chance to build your artwork and print production skills across a varied programme of campaigns.
If you are technically confident, enjoy getting the details right and are keen to keep learning, we would love to hear from you.
Note on Sponsorship: We regret to inform you that at this time, we are unable to offer sponsorship for work authorisation for this role. Therefore, candidates must possess valid authorisation to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.
