Our client, the largest independent accountancy practice are seeking to recruit a VAT Consultant looking to build a career within the professional services within their Exeter offices. As part of the role, the successful candidate will work closely with the VAT Partner delivering first class advice on a broad range of VAT matters and will contribute to the development of this fast-growing team with excellent career progression opportunities.

VAT Consultant responsibilities include: -

  • Provision of VAT advice to clients, colleagues and partners
  • Assisting clients with HMRC VAT enquiries
  • Dealing with queries from other professionals as part of our VAT consultancy service
  • Preparation of marketing material and involvement in Business development, this may include attendance at networking meetings and events
  • Assisting the VAT Partner with the running of the team, including monitoring work in progress, debtors, and billing

VAT Consultant requirements include: -

  • Previous experience working in a VAT advisory role and will come from either practice or an in-house position
  • Resilient, able to multi-task and work independently / flexibly
  • Adaptable, organised and conscientious
  • Takes the initiative, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Accountancy or Tax Qualified (AAT, ACA, ACCA, ATT CTA) is desirable but not essential
  • Good working knowledge of general IT Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Media programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
