Trainee Legal Assistant required to join an award-winning and highly successful law firm on a full-time, permanent basis. As part of the Exeter offices’ Equity Release department, you will provide essential clerical and administrative support to the wider team. The department specialises in advising clients on the legal implications of lifetime mortgages and reversion plans and you will be in a fantastic position to learn more about this area of Law. The successful candidate will have excellent organisation, IT, and team-working skills.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Routine clerical and administrative duties
  • Assist with file management responsibilities for Fee Earners
  • Assist with the billing process
  • Opening and closing files

Requirements: -

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and have the ability to use your own initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • A great team player and be eager to ask questions, but also possess the skills to solve problems independently
  • You will already have experience of taking and redirecting calls where necessary, from clients and colleagues
  • A previous background in an office environment is preferred, for example as an apprentice or office junior
  • You will also have good general IT skills, an understanding of confidentiality and be confident in your ability to learn new processes
