Our client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to be responsible for all things networking and infrastructure within the business. You will be responsible for the networking infrastructure of their sites across the UK and abroad including the management of Internet connectivity and inter-site connectivity. You will also have the opportunity to utilise your expertise through the provision of network consultancy to their pre and post-sales support teams including the setting up of demonstration capabilities to allow potential customers to try out solutions and products.


Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer will include:

  • Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment.
  • Maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
  • Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide-area environments using information from multiple sources.
  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.


As a Senior Network Engineer and the businesses go to, you will need familiarity and an understanding of:

  • IP Routing, Switching, QoS, Traffic Management
  • Network OS – Cisco IOS, Junos, ONL, ONOS
  • WiFi
  • VoIP
  • SAN

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working at a senior level within a similar role.
  • Remote working – PCoIP, Citrix, VMware Blast, RDP etc.
  • VMWare – Data Centre Virtualisation
  • Cloud - AWS, Google, Azure
  • SD-WAN
  • Real Time Protocols
  • SaaS, PaaS, IaaS
  • CCNP, CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure, Data Centre, Security, Service Provider)
  • CCDE
