Senior HR Advisor – a vacancy has become available within a well-established organisation based in Exeter on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract. The role involves providing comprehensive HR support to the organisation and supporting the Head of HR and HR Manager in completing projects, administration, and ensuring systems are updated appropriately. To be considered for this position you will need CIPD Level 5 or equivalent and previous experience in an HR Advisor role. This is a full-time post, working 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Provide comprehensive HR support to a dedicated area, including but not limited to advising on employment relations cases, absence management, recruitment, and training
  • Deputise for HR Manager at agreed meetings and forums
  • Support the Head of HR and HR Manager in completing projects, providing administrative support including minute taking
  • Work closely with the Rota Team to ensure joint working between HR and Rota Teams with aim to reduce double handling
  • Assist in day-to-day HR admin within the office including answering internal and external queries by telephone and email
  • Maintenance of HR systems including inputting of sick absence, special leave, and other HR information
  • Provide general HR advice to managers and staff on a host of topics including using HR policies and processes to determine best course of action
  • Support the Recruitment Team, as required, with recruitment exercises including collation of applications, scheduling of interviews & assessments, administration of job advertisements, and offers
  • Work with the HR Manager to interpret and explain HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations as required
  • Address staff relations issues, such as harassment or grievance allegations, work complaints, or other concerns
  • Assist with strategic planning, resource allocation, HR modelling and co-ordination
  • Occasional out of hours work may be required, for example, to assist with staff training

Requirements: -

  • Education to A-Level standard or equivalent
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent
  • Experience in word processing and maintaining records
  • Confident using Microsoft Office packages
  • Proven knowledge of employment law, HR good practice, procedures, and working to organisational policies
  • Experience of working in an HR Advisor role
  • Proven experience of HR practices and procedures
  • A critical thinker with a methodical approach
  • Ability to work under pressure & to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Effective communicator and active listener
