Summary: 

Cathedral Appointments has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Property Solicitor to join a leading law firm in their Launceston office. This position would suit an experienced Solicitor with a varied Property background. The work will primarily be Residential Property but there will also be Commercial Property work. Due to the nature of this firm’s client base, it is also important for the successful candidate to have some familiarity with Rural/Agricultural Property matters. There will also be some management responsibilities.

 

What will you be doing as a Residential Property Solicitor?

 

  • Dealing with a varied, busy caseload of Property matters; primarily Residential Property but also Commercial Property and some Rural/Agricultural matters
  • Taking a client’s instructions
  • Advising a client on the law and legal issues relating to their case
  • Drafting documents, letters and contracts tailored to the client’s individual needs
  • Negotiating with clients and other professionals to secure agreed objectives
  • Supervising the implementation of agreements
  • Coordinating the work of all parties involved
  • Supervising and delegating work to trainee solicitors and assistants as appropriate
  • Checking all documentation prior to signing and implementing
  • Undertaking business development activities
  • Marketing the firm, the department and yourself
  • Keeping up to date with changes and developments in the law
  • Undertaking a range of continuing professional development (CPD)  

 

Skills/Qualifications of a Residential Property Solicitor:

  • You will be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE
  • You will have experience of Residential, Commercial and Rural/Agricultural Property matters
  • You will have the ability to manage a busy caseload
  • You will also have the ability to manage a team
  • You will be commercially aware with good communication skills
  • You will be a team player who can adapt priorities to meet tight deadlines
  • You will be driven, enthusiastic and passionate about the Property sector
  • You will have strong IT and Microsoft Office skills
  • A knowledge of the SOS document management system would be an advantage
