Philanthropy Manager required to join a well-established charity based in Exeter on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, your main role will involve managing the charity’s trusts and major donor income streams. To be considered for this vacancy you will need previous experience in a similar role, experience of managing a team, and of building/monitoring budgets and pipelines. A full, clean UK Driving Licence is essential as travel to different sites may be required.

Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Manage and develop the charity’s Trusts and Major Donor budgets and pipelines, maximising these income streams
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues from across the organisation, especially in the Clinical and Estates teams, to develop suitable projects for funding
  • Formulate individualised and tailored funding applications to ensure budgets are met
  • Create regular reporting on progress to Head of Philanthropy and Director of Fundraising and Marketing to ensure ongoing analysis is undertaken to support income development and highlight risks
  • Devise and manage Trusts and Major Donor reporting to funders alongside appropriate, personalised communications in order that they are fully informed
  • Co-ordinate meetings and communications between funders and internal stakeholders including Chief Executive Officer, Directors, and Trustees to ensure their continued engagement and support
  • Assist the Head of Philanthropy with the monitoring and development of the Trusts and Major Donor strategies, in order that they are kept up to date in terms of sector-wide developments, best practice, and legal requirements

Requirements: -

  • Graduate with relevant degree (eg Business) or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience of managing and developing Trusts and/or major donor income streams
  • Significant experience of packaging up a project for funders
  • Substantial experience of researching and writing funding applications and bids
  • Understanding of forward planning including research, analysis, setting budgets, and planning for future growth
  • Detailed understanding of the Code of Fundraising Practice and the Fundraising Regulator Rulebooks
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Developed IT skills including Excel
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to work unsocial hours on occasion to fulfill requirements of the role
  • A full, clean UK Driving Licence & access to own transport as travel to different sites may be required
