An excellent opportunity for an Operations Analyst has arisen to join a leading finance company based in Exeter on a full-time, permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to support the fund accounting operations which includes portfolio prices and data scrubbing, corporate action processing, maintenance of system static data, transaction processing assistance and reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will have advanced Microsoft Office skills, a logical and methodical approach as well as strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Ensure corporate actions are processed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Liaise with fund managers on corporate action elections
  • Ensure best practice for administration and record-keeping is maintained
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on queries and testing
  • Monitor and maintain dividend data to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure system prices are accurate and checked daily (scrubbed) to independent price sources
  • Process / validate manual price changes
  • Ensure other market data in the system is accurate and up to date
  • Liaise with IT and suppliers on data feed issues
  • Maintain an appropriate level of user access to banking systems
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of online banking system status
  • Assist users with online banking queries and issues
  • Ensure signature mandates are kept up to date
  • Maintenance of system static data & ownership of standard system setup tasks
  • Basic systems support for users and troubleshooting

Requirements: -

  • Minimum of Maths & English GCSE grade A-C, or equivalent
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively (written & oral) at all levels
  • Demonstrably methodical and highly organised with a proven ability to meet deadlines 
  • Accountancy qualification/Part qualified accountant (desirable)
  • Securities & Investment Institute Level 3 Qualifications (IOC Parts 1,2 and 3) (desirable)
  • Previous experience of corporate actions/pricing (desirable)
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated
  • Attention to detail
  • Capable of managing multiple concurrent tasks in a demanding business environment
  • Able to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including senior management
