Our client, a leading manufacturer in their field, is looking for an Operations Administrator to join their Exeter-based team on a full-time, permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to assist in managing inventory, processing purchase orders, preparing monthly inbound reports, and liaising with overseas offices/ shipping agents & warehouse administrators. To be considered for this role you will need some previous administrative experience, good IT skills, and excellent communication skills.

The role is 35.25 hours per week, 8.45 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility, Monday-Friday. During the initial 3-month probation period all training will take place in the Exeter office, after this period a 50/50 home/office working approach is available.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Process goods received notes in SAP
  • Make stock adjustments as advised by warehouse operatives in a timely manner
  • Process inter-warehouse transfers requests on system
  • Process and update purchase orders
  • Liaise with USA, Hong Kong and European offices daily
  • Liaise with shipping agents and warehouse administrators
  • Supply stock information to all internal stakeholders
  • Prepare monthly inbound reports
  • Undertake stock reconciliation investigations as required
  • Review material master data to ensure accuracy of database
  • Undertake any IT system testing as requested
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Review and submit rework requests as required

Requirements: -

  • Previous administration experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
  • GCSE’s at grade C or recognised equivalent in Maths and English
  • Positive and pro-active attitude towards tasks
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
  • Experience working with SAP (desirable)
  • Previous shipping or sea freight experience (desirable)
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and show initiative within company guidelines
  • Highly organised with a logical approach to tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team worker able to work with multiple groups and individuals across the business and with external parties to achieve results
