Summary:

Our client is looking to recruit a driven and competent NQ to 2 Year PQE solicitor, or a Legal Executive, to join their Marine Regulation Planning team on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in the beautiful city of Exeter, you will be engaging with a wide variety of tasks across the planning services, encompassing both private and public sectors. The successful candidate will possess impeccable attention to detail and an ability to grow and maintain long-lasting relationships over time.

This is a non-contentious legal role. No prior experience in the area of marine regulation is required, but you must be eager to expand your knowledge. Highly Competitive role with great benefits.

At least a couple of days a week will be office based, but there is ample opportunity for remote working.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting for statutory harbour authorities, local authorities and well-known businesses to review the statutory instruments that dictate Harbour Revision Order applications and coastal development advances, among other areas of regulatory advice.
  • Reporting directly to Partners and providing them with the support that they need.
  • Undertaking terrestrial planning work.  
  • Collaborating with a prominent, distinguished team in an incredibly exciting area.

Requirements:

  • Meticulous approach to working.
  • Excellent written and organisational skills.
  • A particular interest in, or aptitude for reviewing historical documents (desirable).
  • An ability to meet deadlines with ease and thrive under pressure.
  • A desire to build upon knowledge and apply this knowledge effectively.
  • Ambitious, driven and eager to help further develop the business.
  • An ability to grow and retain long-lasting relationships with clients and demonstrate your commitment to their needs and requirements.
