Cathedral Appointments is looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join a well-respected Charity on a 4–6 month FTC basis. You will be taking on the role of providing support to the Head of Finance and the Director of Finance & Resources through undertaking various different tasks.

This role will be primarily home based, with some opportunity for Office working.

What will you be doing as a Management Accountant?

  • Engaging in Financial Management and Reporting duties including preparing accurate monthly management accounts by set deadlines.
  • Providing support to both the Director of Finance & Resources and the Head of Finance in the preparing medium-term financial forecasts.
  • Preparing and posting monthly and quarterly journals in order to report on accurate financial positions.
  • Aiding the Head of Finance in preparing year-end accounts and ensuring that the Finance Team meet statutory, reporting and audit requirements.
  • Helping to produce accurate financial information relating to staffing costs by collaborating with People Services and developing a system to ensure the accuracy of monthly payroll.
  • Reconciling relevant balance sheets and control accounts.
  • Creating reports for the Head of Finance and Director of Finance & Resources regarding Treasury Management activities.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Finance & Resources, the Head of Finance and the Finance Operations Manager to ensure that the Finance service is consistently meeting appropriate levels of service.

Skills/Qualifications of a Management Accountant:

  • Ideally you will be AAT qualified or part qualified ACCA, CIMA, CCAB.
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of management accounting principles and associated techniques.
  • You should be comfortable using IT software, particularly Microsoft Packages such as Excel, Word, Outlook & Teams.
  • An ability to work to challenging deadlines and to communicate with team members to make sure that all outputs are produced accurately.
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks at once.
