Our client, a well-established local Law firm is looking to recruit a Legal Secretary to join their team in Launceston on a full-time, permanent basis. You be working for the firm’s Partner and engaging in a wide range of audio typing work as well as managing diaries and arranging appointments. You will be an experienced Legal Secretary with sufficient prior experience gained in Audio and Copy typing.

What will you be doing as a Legal Secretary?

  • Engaging in audio typing and copy typing of memos, correspondence and legal documentation.
  • Corresponding with clients both face-to-face and over the phone, taking messages and following up on agreed actions.
  • Managing diaries and arranging appointments.
  • Managing email accounts.
  • Undertaking file management and supporting the fee earner as and when is necessary.

Skills/Qualifications of a Legal Secretary:

  • You will be an experienced Legal Secretary and you will have gained a solid amount of experience in Audio and Copy typing.
  • You will have a copy and digital audio typing speed of minimum 60wpm.
  • Strong attention to detail and a liking for fast-paced work is a must for success in this role.
  • You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to work using your own initiative as well as being able to prioritise is essential.
  • You will have excellent time management skills and will be able to work to deadlines effectively.
  • A high standard of customer service skills is essential.
  • You will work well in a team providing support to other secretaries and fee-earners.
