An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Assistant (intern) to join a successful and innovative company based in Exeter. Your main duties will involve supporting the NPD department with ingredient collection, sample making and submission to internal and external customers, and you will also assist with customer projects, helping to deliver winning beverage solutions. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Food Science or Physical Sciences, experience of working in a food preparation environment and good organisational skills.
This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the collection, ordering and delivery of raw materials
- Help prepare juice, soft, carbonated and alcoholic drinks and beverage solutions for internal and external customers
- Ensure the laboratory is clean and tidy at all times
- Ensure the laboratory is fully stocked with ingredients and consumables
- Assist the NPD Team with product panels & the recording of associated actions
- Support with sample ordering and delivery to the customer
- Assist with Development record keeping to ensure compliance to the Quality Management System
- Keep aware of new beverages on the market and purchase for the NPD team to review
- Ensure all samples flavours, juices, recipes are completed and submitted to internal and external customers on time
- Ensure all development records are complete and accurate
Requirements:
- Food Science or Physical Sciences
- Experience of working in a food preparation environment
- Good organisation & planning skills
- Professional manner
- Able to work independently & as part of a team
- Initiative
- Good IT skills - knowledge of Microsoft applications
