Our client is an eCommerce business looking for a Junior UI Designer to join their ever-growing team. Within this role, you will truly be the voice of the customers – utilising user insights you’ve collected to translate this into a beautiful User Experience. You will be working alongside a range of people including Senior Leadership, Project Managers and Developers to create a seamless experience for users. To fully succeed in this role, you will not only need to have creativity but also technical knowledge of industry tools. If you have experience working within a similar junior design role or have recently graduated with a qualification that encompasses computer/digital design, then this new exciting role may be for you!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and present research findings on competitors UI Design elements
- Research into design elements including use case specifics and product customisation
- Create a design roadmap to present and defend your individual design decisions
- Use a wide range of methods to effectively communicate your interaction ideas
- Analysis of user responses and website data to establish high traffic areas
- Utilise knowledge and research of website traffic to improve low traffic areas
- Strive to stay educated and up to date on changes and updates in the UI/UX industry
- Collaborate effectively on tasks to improve the effectiveness of workload and flow
Requirements:
- Skills in typography, layout, visual design and design and grid principles
- Knowledge and skills in industry tools, including Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Omnigraffle and InVision
- A proactive approach to work
- Passion for UI design, including sitemap, user flows, lo-fi and high-fi layouts, wireframes, and prototypes
- Can show a keen interest in digital retail and User Experience and has the ambition to grow and succeed as a designer
- Desirable: Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design, UX/UI Design or Digital Design related subject
- Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS
