A hotel group based in South Devon and Cornwall are looking to recruit a HR Officer to join their “Family”. To be based in Torquay the HR Officer will oversea the employees of 4 hotels (up to 300 employees) Reporting to and working closely with the senior management team and the payroll manager. The post holder will be involved with all aspects of the HR function, providing a source of expert advice to the Company, ensuring that HR needs are met and acting as a source of support for Senior Management. The key focus will be on recruitment, disciplinary processes, and staff welfare.

As HR Officer, you will be:

  • Be first point of advisory contact and HR support for Employees
  • Managing the recruitment process including job descriptions, recruitment, interviews, job offer and induction.
  • Provide expert guidance to the group regarding all aspects of HR including training, disciplinary, grievance, appraisals, exit interviews etc.
  • Acting as a point of contact for heads of department and employees to provide advice on employment law, expertise, and support on employee relations issues

As HR Officer, you will need:

  • Associate Member of the CIPD.
  • Excellent communication and motivation skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years HR experience in a similar role
  • A sound knowledge of HR practice and procedure together with an up-to-date knowledge of employment law
  • Competent with using IT software including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Fourth and Flow software would be desirable but not essential
