An exciting new vacancy for an HR Advisor has become available within a well-established organisation based in Exeter. The focus of the role will be to provide comprehensive HR advice across the organisation, work with the HR Manager to interpret/explain HR policies and regulations, and provide reports to managers and operational teams. If you are CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a permanent, full-time position.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Manage HR responsibilities for a core contract
  • Provide comprehensive HR support to dedicated area, including but not limited to advising on employment relations cases, absence management, recruitment, and training
  • Support the Head of HR and HR Manager in completing projects, providing administrative support including minute taking
  • Assist in day-to-day HR administration within the office including answering internal and external queries by telephone and email
  • Maintenance of HR systems including inputting of sick absence, special leave, and other HR information
  • Deliver general HR advice to managers and staff on a host of topics including using HR policies and processes to determine the best course of action
  • Provision of HR reports to managers and others as required e.g. to demonstrate the performance of KPIs
  • Support in training administration including booking of training and corporate events, training, and other events/resources
  • Support of recruitment exercises including collation of applications, scheduling of interviews & assessments, administration of job advertisements and offers
  • Administer Disclosure and Barring Service checks
  • Work with the HR Manager to interpret and explain HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations as required

Requirements: -

  • Education to A-Level standard or equivalent
  • CIPD Level 5 or Equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages
  • Proven experience in HR practices and procedures
  • An active listener
  • Critical thinking and deductive reasoning
  • Ability to work under pressure & to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Effective communicator and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision
  • Ability to work well within a team
