An exciting opportunity has arisen for Head of HR (Employee Relations) to join a leading employer in Torbay on an 18-month Fixed Term Contract, covering maternity leave. The main purpose of the role is to lead the delivery of a modern operational HR service, providing employee relations advice and accountability for driving and influencing process of change, redesign, efficiency, and productivity across People Hub Services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in employment law/employee relations, a holistic OD mindset, and a passion for making a difference within the organisation.

This is a full-time role and flexible working is available with a hybrid approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a key leadership role in the programme of work that will implement and embed the principles of a just and learning culture throughout the organisation
  • Drive and influence process of change, redesign, efficiency, and productivity across People Hub Services
  • Develop and implement a suite of offers for the reward and recognition of colleagues throughout the organisation
  • Successful delivery of contract with GPs ensuring all KPIs are met exploring other opportunities through expanding the People Hub service offer to external organisations that could lead to income generation
  • Manage the Occupational Health contract (currently externally provided) ensuring value for money and flexibility to the changing needs of the organisation
  • Lead the development and implementation of a modern framework of people policies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in presentations to large and small hostile audiences and facilitation of agreement between stakeholders using a variety of communication techniques
  • Extensive experience in employee relations, with examples of leading very complex cases managing staff side representatives and satisfying stakeholders in conflict
  • Well-developed experience in implementation of Workforce and OD strategy into practice, change management
  • Educated to a Master's level in the HR field or equivalent work experience and knowledge in a range of areas e.g. HR, Organisational Development, Equality and Diversity, Learning and Development
  • Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Member (MCIPD) or equivalent experience
