Fleet & Utilities Manager required for a successful, high-growth company based in Exeter. This is an integral role responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and organisation of the company’s fleet and site utilities. This is an exciting time to join the business and you will have lots to get stuck into. Our client is looking for an experienced administrator with strong planning and organisation skills as well as proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at the Exeter office. The successful candidate needs to have a full clean driver’s license as the role may require use of a company vehicle.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Act as a point of contact for all fleet enquiries
  • Support and manage the business’ multisite operation and maintenance of building service
  • Direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as maintenance, mail, cleaning, waste disposal, and recycling
  • Ensure buildings meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation
  • Liaise with the operational teams to support all aspects of service delivered by the wider team
  • Liaise with fleet suppliers to ensure effective delivery of service to operational teams
  • Manage vehicle maintenance including MOTs and services
  • Order, distribute and monitor fuel cards
  • Take charge of the general management of company pool cars
  • Ensure proper use of dashcam footage
  • Manage fleet compliance in line with governing organisations and company procedures
  • Driver management including allocation of vehicles, fuel cards, and vehicle cleanliness
  • Provide general support to the wider team to include projects and strategic planning – stakeholder engagement, managing the fleet lifecycle, and risk management
  • Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace

Requirements: -

  • An experienced administrator
  • Take ownership in managing and maintaining external/internal database
  • Provide people management and supervision
  • Be a strong communicator and be able to build long-lasting relationships with stakeholders
  • Used to working independently with minimum supervision whilst also being an extremely effective team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literacy in Microsoft packages and database management
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and time allocation skills
  • Proven experience in fleet management in light commercial vehicles or in a similar sector (desirable)
  • A clean driver’s license is beneficial as the role may require use of a company vehicle
