Our client is looking to recruit a Finance and Resources Officer on an FTC basis for 9-12 months. The main purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the running of the Purchase Ledger, Rents Ledger, Sales Ledger, cash, and banking procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and impeccable attention to detail.

This role is flexible and there is potential to work from home a couple of days a week.

Responsibilities include:

Purchase Ledger:

  • Supervising all purchase ledger processes including orders, authorisation, coding, inputs and payment.
  • Overseeing and maintaining the electronic authorisation for purchase invoices and credit notes.
  • Making sure that all invoices are thoroughly checked and stored.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to discuss invoices, credit notes and remittance advices where needed.

Rents and Sales Ledger

  • Processing sales invoices and supervising sales ledger accounting functions.
  • Maintaining and processing transactions for rent and sales ledgers.
  • Reconciling ledgers at month-end and conducting a monthly debit run.
  • Keeping up with direct debit records and collection runs.

Cash, Banking, Electronic Receipts, and Reports. 

  • Processing and banking cash and cheque receipts.
  • Taking control of Petty Cash, managing, and reconciling it.
  • Reconciling PDQ terminal receipts.
  • Creating weekly spreadsheet reconciliations of timesheets within building departments.
  • Preparing Financial budget reports for major improvement schemes.

Human Resources

  • Aiding teams with recruitment.
  • Setting up all new starters and leavers.
  • Monitoring sickness and absence.
  • Maintaining staff records in the HR system.
  • Ensuring that the organisation’s HR data retention policy is honoured.
  • Collaborating with other departments to coordinate and monitor training.

Requirements:

  •  An individual with a strong work ethic and sound attention to detail.
  • Somebody who is incredibly well organised and uses their initiative.
  • Someone who is confident dealing with enquiries whether in person or over the phone.
  • A candidate who is analytical, solution-oriented and capable of adapting to a fast-paced environment.
  • An individual who works collaboratively in a team environment.
