Cathedral Appointments has a fantastic opportunity for a candidate to join our client’s people-orientated, well-established law firm in a beautiful Somerset location. You will be working within the organisation’s Criminal Defence Department and will be a fully qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive. The successful candidate will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, but will also be willing to take on some out of hours work.

What will you be doing as a Criminal Defence Solicitor?
- Representing and defending clients across a broad range of criminal matters.
- Managing a busy caseload of pre-existing private client and legal aid files.
- Attending clients at magistrate courts and police stations.
Skills/Qualifications of a Criminal Defence Solicitor:
- Fully qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive.
- Eligibility for the Court and Police Station Duty Rota Scheme (essential).
- Expert legal knowledge and insight.
- A highly motivated, organised individual with a strong work ethic and a positive approach to work.
- An ability to thrive under pressure and to meet deadlines with ease.
- Impeccable advocacy skills.
- Excellent client facing skills.
