Our client, a successful fund management business, requires a Client Director to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

This is primarily a client relationship management, business development, and asset-gathering role, based at the head office. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be level 4/6 CISI PCIAM or Level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager qualified, and have at least 5 years’ experience within a top-tier firm.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Build a book of private clients/assets
  • Leverage existing network, initiate dialogues and, ultimately, attract new clients to company’s range of investment propositions
  • Prospect for and introduce new client assets, suitable to the company’s business model i.e. discretionary portfolio management
  • Develop distribution channels for the range of funds and portfolio services among the IFA community
  • Develop links with suitable private client intermediaries (lawyers, trust companies etc)
  • Develop meaningful dialogue with a pipeline of new prospects that will ‘spark’ over a period
  • Look after, service and develop these prospects when they do become clients
  • Annual reviews and other reporting to be completed within specified timeframes
  • Any other review of a client’s requirements in view of changing personal circumstances
  • Develop and build the relationship with the client, their family and wider circle
  • Identify and target the best sources of new clients and develop new channels of business
  • Ensure you are compliant with FCA regulations at all times and comply with company operating procedures and guidelines
  • Keep abreast of market movements
  • Maintain and update investment knowledge, main tax rules etc
  • Generally, sustain a high level of professionalism and knowledge of industry best practice

Requirements: -

  • Have at least five years’ experience or more, gained within a top-tier firm
  • Ideally be Level 4/6 CISI (PCIAM) or Level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager qualified
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and a well-developed network of existing relationships
  • Have the ability and aptitude to recognise the wider corporate scope and potential of the role
