Buyer Vacancy!! Our client, an innovative and successful company based in Exeter, is looking for a Buyer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is responsible for purchasing, sourcing new suppliers, contract negotiation, and working closely with the New Product Development Team to ensure timely introduction of new product ranges. If you have knowledge of Incoterms and overseas procurement as well as previous experience of working within a new product development team, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
After the initial probation period, there is the option to work from home up to 2 days per week.
Responsibilities include: -
- All direct and some indirect procurement, against a specified supplier portfolio
- Supply chain risk analysis and development of alternative supplier strategies
- Improve aspects of supplier delivery performance
- Improve quality performance
- Work closely with R&D and the Engineering team to coordinate and drive forward NPD, including early supplier involvement, cost estimation, value engineering, process optimisation, material selection
- Coordinate the production and capacity planning of strategic suppliers, including cost-effective and timely delivery of all free issued parts
- Effective contract development, negotiation, review, and implementation
- Expedite all purchase orders, ensuring all delivery dates are adhered to
Requirements: -
- Evidence of purchasing products/components
- Proven track record of working within a new product development team
- Proven track record of purchasing services and supplies
- Proven track record of business travel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Incoterms and overseas procurement
- Strong lateral thinker with excellent negotiation skills
- CIPS/MCIPS would be advantageous
