UP TO £23,831 PRO-RATA | PART-TIME – 30 HRS /WK | HYBRID – OFFICE VISITS IN TOTNES

a South West-based charity providing a wide range of support services across the region to individuals who are either in receipt of care or require assistance with the management of their financial affairs. An opportunity has arisen within our Court of Protection Team for an Appointee Finance Assistant.

Appointee Finance Assistant Responsibilities include: -

  • Responsible for claiming and managing benefits
  • Ensure that all funds held for the client are being used in their best interest.
  • Responsible for budgeting individual clients and ensuring outgoings are within budget
  • Maintaining Client database and files to ensure accurate record keeping
  • Completion of DWP forms and financial assessments for Local Authorities
  • Liaise with client
  • Liaise with Local Authorities, social workers and other professionals involved with the client
  • Ensure all personal data is kept secure and under GDPR rulings
  • Ensure benefit knowledge is kept up to date by attending training courses and using Gov.uk websites
  • Assist Court of Protection Officer with duties listed above

Appointee Finance Assistant Requirements include: -

Essential

  • Client Focused.
  • Able to manage their own caseload whilst working within a supportive Team environment.
  • Ability to share knowledge and be willing to gain knowledge from other team members.
  • Competent IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Desirable (However training will be provided)

  • Experience in working with the Department of Works and Pensions
  • Experience in completing financial assessments
  • Knowledge of grants, schemes, reductions and exemptions for low-income households
  • Experience in working with vulnerable adults
