Summary:
Our client is looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Team Leader on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in the beautiful Southwestern location of Exeter, the role can be summarised by taking on overall responsibility for the management of the Accounts Payable Team. You will also be instrumental in the project management of the upgrade of the current finance system to Sage 1000 within the Accounts Payable Team.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the Accounts Payable Team.
- Putting in place standard processes across the team, in particular the implementation of Sage 1000.
- Forming a link between the Accounts Payable team and the Financial Accounts team in order to discuss accounting matters.
- Engaging with the reporting functionality to analyse key data effectively.
- Establishing KPI’s to ensure effective operation of purchase ledger functions.
- Resolving outstanding purchase ledger queries through communicating with internal departments (including purchasing, procurement and warehouse) and external vendors to guarantee successful completion.
- Overseeing purchase ledger tasks including the GRNI and stock in transit process.
- Assisting with both internal and external auditors.
- Engaging with both SAGE and Excel programmes.
- Preparing and authorising weekly and monthly BACs payments.
- Collaborating with external auditors to complete Statutory accounts.
- Reviewing purchase ledger periodically to make sure that all accounts are active.
- Conducting reviews of Exports/Imports to ensure that duty/VAT is correctly accounted for.
Person Specification:
- Ideally you will be fully or part AAT qualified or equivalent.
- Ideally you will have experience of managing a team and poses excellent communication skills and an ability to motivate staff.
- Be proactive in your approach to work, and possess strong attention to detail.
- You will be commercially minded with the ability to project-manage to tight deadlines.
- Ideally have worked within manufacturing environments and ERP systems – knowledge of Sage Line 1000 would be particularly advantageous.
