Our client, an award-winning training provider based in Exeter, is looking for an Accountancy Trainer to join their friendly team on a permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to deliver training and support to individuals undertaking Accounting Apprenticeships and the AAT qualification at Levels 2 to 4. You will design lesson plans, liaise closely with the employers of the apprentices in your personal tutor group, and provide learners with constructive feedback. The successful candidate will have an appropriate Accountancy qualification e.g. AAT, ACA, CIMA, ACCA and extensive experience within an Accountancy field.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Delivery of the Accounting Apprenticeship programme both remotely and in class
  • Actively support, mentor and motivate learners across the learner journey to help them with the timely completion of their learning aims and qualification
  • Liaise closely with the employers of the apprentices in your personal tutor group to ensure that the needs of both learner and employer are met and that appropriate work experience is planned to meet the skills and behaviour requirements of the Apprenticeship
  • Design lesson plans, schemes of work and training resources to meet the needs of learners and employers
  • Deliver consistently good or better theory, practical and coaching sessions with an Accountancy focus, incorporating an effective range of learning methods that enable outstanding learning outcomes for learners
  • Formulate and maintain individual learning plans for your personal tutor group, including setting KPIs
  • Provide learners with academic and pastoral support to help them achieve their goals
  • Provide insightful, constructive and informative feedback to help the learner maximize their potential
  • Working to specific quality and completion of targets, including meeting the requirements of the Education and Inspection Framework for Apprenticeships, being subject to Ofsted Inspections and complying with the requirements of the ESFA

Requirements: -

  • An appropriate Accountancy qualification e.g. AAT, ACA, CIMA, ACCA
  • Extensive experience within an Accountancy field
  • Assessor qualified, A1, TAQA, CAVA, or D32, D33 would be preferable
  • Previous Teaching or Tutoring of Professional Accountancy qualifications would be highly desirable
  • A Teaching Qualification would also be beneficial, however this is not essential
  • Willingness to use video platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom
  • An effective communicator and a team player who is willing to get stuck in
  • An excellent planner, you will be able to manage your time effectively as well as conflicting priorities
  • You will have the ability to coach, develop and mentor people
  • You need to “care”. The training role is a vocation as much as it is a job. You should be looking to achieve considerable satisfaction from supporting your learners to succeed in their exams and progress their careers
